Yep, it's Monday. You're coming into work, and you're exhausted from fighting for that last parking space two blocks away. You're shivering -- your umbrella didn't protect you from all that rain and wind blowing right in your face. And you know exactly how your day is going to go the second you open the office door. There's a pile of papers marked "urgent" in your mail bin, and your boss's voice is hoarse from yelling at your coworker . . . again.
You straighten up, force a smile, hang your coat on the back of the door, and head into battle. There's just nothing good about this day. And then . . . you open your inbox.
Your face brightens. It's an email from Virtual Vacay! This week you're going to Paris! You thumb through the mail on your desk and wonder idly whether you're going to the Eiffel Tower or maybe to a cottage in the countryside. There might be a link to a travelogue about exploring the Montmarte District, or maybe a list of short train trips from the city, or a recommendation for a great hotel or restaurant.
You see your boss eyeing you, so you turn your attention back to your desk and start your daily routine. You can't help but smile a real smile now. You've got a few blissful moments of escape waiting for you whenever you want them. Sometime today you can give yourself a well-deserved break and lose yourself briefly in the joys of armchair travel.

Hi! I'm Heather, founder of Virtual Vacay, and I'm no stranger to the scenario above. And no, it's not always THAT dramatic. But I'm sure you know as well as I do that sometimes you just can't escape those days when nothing goes your way. Those days when all you want to think about is the next trip you're going to take, even if it's just a quick trip to your backyard patio with a glass of wine. That's why I started Virtual Vacay.
I've loved to travel for as long as I can remember, and one of best parts of every trip I take is the research and planning stage. It's so easy to lose myself for an afternoon or evening in books or movies about all the great places to see in this world, and the more I learn about them, the more I can't wait to see them in person! But as much fun as I have coming up with great travel stories and trip itineraries, it's much more fun when I have someone to share them with. That's why I'd love to have you as my guests and travel companions on all of these amazing adventures!
Of course, I have a lot of real-life travel experience backing me up -- I've visited 15 countries on 4 continents, and 29 states in the U.S., and I'm still counting! All that travel has taught me lots of tips and tricks for planning amazing vacations and for getting the best deals on travel and travel products. I can't wait to share that knowledge with you, and I'll do my best to answer any questions you have along the way. If there are any topics in particular that you'd like me to post about, please reach out and let me know. Most of all, I want to make travel EASY for you, and that goes for both virtual travel and real travel.
Please check out my travel and fiction subscriptions on Patreon, where you can get trip itineraries, travel stories, and other great content delivered to you for a small monthly fee.
